Slow-Cooked Barbecue

Makes: 5 servings
Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds boneless chuck steak, 1 ½ inches thick
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ cup red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dry or yellow mustard
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Directions
- Cut the beef on a diagonal, across the grain into slices 1 inch wide and place in a slow cooker.
- Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the meat.
- Cover and cook on low for 3-5 hours.
- Remove meat from slow cooker and cut into slices.
- Serve on toasted whole wheat hamburger buns with a mixed green salad.
