Shiela Corley serves as Acting Administrator of the Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA), the primary agency at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) responsible for administering the nation’s 16 federal nutrition assistance programs and leading the development of nutrition policy and guidance.
With more than 30 years of distinguished service at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Corley brings a wealth of leadership experience to FNA. Her USDA journey began with the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), where she served in roles ranging from statistician and survey administrator to manager of environmental and economic survey programs, and Deputy Chief of Staff. In 2018, Corley joined what is now the Food and Nutrition Administration (formerly the Food and Nutrition Service) as Chief of Staff and in recent years also served as a USDA detailee to the Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Regardless of role, Corley’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing the Department’s mission, driving effective policy implementation, and ensuring coordination of priority initiatives.
Corley was raised on a farm in Greenville, Kentucky, and earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Kentucky. She remains active with University of Kentucky, where she currently sits on the UK Alumni Leadership Advisory Council. She is active member of the Junior League of Washington and other nonprofit organizations, as well as serving in her local church community.
