Summer EBT Implementation Toolkit

As a nation, we have the opportunity to dramatically reduce childhood hunger during the summer months, which are the hungriest time of year for students who miss the meals offered during the school year. SUN Bucks helps address summer hunger among children.

The following documents assist states, tribal organizations, and territories in implementing SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) each year.

    Provide additional information on program administration, eligibility, certification, verification, and EBT benefits. They expand upon previously released Summer EBT guidance and answer the most frequently asked questions of the Summer EBT program.

    Technical assistance resources for Summer EBT implementing agencies to determine eligibility, streamline certification, and meet program implementation deadlines.

    This document describes the methods by which Summer EBT agencies conduct verification for Summer EBT applications.
  • Summer EBT/SUN Bucks Online Application Partnership
    USDA developed an online application to make it easier for families to apply for Summer EBT benefits and easier for states to run the new program. State agencies and tribal organizations administering Summer EBT can opt in at no cost.
