Resource | Proposed Rule Proposed Rule: WIC Miscellaneous Vendor-Related Provisions

This proposed rule would amend the regulations governing the WIC program to clarify issues that have arisen subsequent to the publication of the WIC Food Delivery Systems Final Rule on Dec. 29, 2000, and to strengthen further the requirements for state vendor management and infant formula cost-containment systems.

Resource | Notices Privacy Act: Proposed New System of Records

In accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, 5 USC 552(a), FNS is giving notice that it proposes to establish a new system of records: USDA/FNS–11, entitled Information on Persons Identified as Responsible for Serious Deficiencies, Proposed for Disqualification, or Disqualified to Participate as Principals or Family Day Care Home Operators in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Resource | Final Rule Final Rule: WIC Food Delivery Systems - Delay of Implementation Date

This final rule delays from Feb. 27, 2002 until Oct. 1, 2002 the implementation date of the final rule entitled Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children: Food Delivery Systems, which was published in the Federal Register on Dec. 29, 2000, 65 FR 83248, and became effective on April 28, 2001.

The Food and Nutrition Service proposes to amend its regulations to implement several work-related provisions of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996. This proposed rule makes significant changes to current work rules, including requirements for the Food Stamp Employment and Training Program and the optional workfare program.

Resource | Final Rule Final Rule: FMNP Legislative Changes From the William F. Goodling Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act of 1998

This final rule implements three FMNP-related nondiscretionary provisions mandated in the William F. Goodling Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act of 1998. The three provisions pertain to the use of program income as a state matching fund source, elimination of specific state plan ranking criteria used to determine funding preferences, and use of expansion funds to increase the value of benefits to recipients.

This proposed rule would amend regulations governing the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children to implement a mandate of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, which requires the disqualification of WIC vendors who are disqualified from the Food Stamp Program.

FNS is proposing to amend Food Stamp Program regulations by increasing the disqualification penalties for individuals who are found guilty in a federal, state or local court of trading or receiving food stamp coupons (coupons) for firearms, ammunition, explosives or controlled substances.
