FNS has 7 regional offices who work directly with state agencies and other stakeholders to manage and administer the 15 nutrition assistance programs.

The Food and Nutrition Service is headquartered in Alexandria, VA. In partnership with state and tribal governments, our programs serve one in four Americans during the course of a year. We work hard every day to ensure that no one goes hungry.

On Dec. 27, 2020, the President signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021 that temporarily expands student eligibility  of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008.
