The Food and Nutrition Service is headquartered in Alexandria, VA. In partnership with state and tribal governments, our programs serve one in four Americans during the course of a year. We work hard every day to ensure that no one goes hungry.
Our headquarters’ employees interpret, develop, and implement policy and guidance based on executive and legislative changes in the federal nutrition assistance programs. Our employees also work hard to provide technical assistance to our state and local partners as well as colleagues in our 7 regional offices.
FNS headquarters also delivers critical infrastructure support to the Agency including human resources, civil rights, facilities and logistics, contract management, information technology, and financial management.
