FDPIR Sharing Gallery: Photos

This gallery contains photo albums from multiple ITO FDPIR program sites and government agencies. These photos can be used to add visual appeal to presentations and handouts, or on social media messaging and websites.

Lummi Nation FDPIR Self-Determination Demonstration Project

Lummi Nation began participating in the FDPIR self-determination demonstration project in October 2021. Lummi Nation manages several treaty-reserved fisheries off the Washington coast and will be providing a variety of local seafood items to FDPIR participants through the demonstration project.

Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa FDPIR Self-Determination Demonstration Project

The Mino Bimaadiziiwin Farm, which is tribally owned and operated, provides fresh produce to FDPIR participants. Produce items provided by the farm include everything from carrots and squash to lettuce and salad mix. The Red Cliff Fish Company is located within the Red Cliff Reservation, which spans 22 miles of Lake Superior shoreline in northern Wisconsin.

This photo album showcases the grocery store model at Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, where FDPIR participants can select the items in their monthly food packages. The store also features colorful signage reinforcing healthy eating messages and shelving with the traditional name of the food.

FDPIR at Lummi

This photo album features Lummi Nation in Washington and includes warehouse operations, home delivery, and a nutrition education class with a cooking demo of salmon with orange sauce and whole wheat pasta with broccoli.

FDPIR at Spirit Lake

This photo album shows a variety of food distribution models and nutrition education activities at Spirit Lake Sioux Tribe in North Dakota. Spirit Lake FDPIR features a grocery store concept where clients can select the items in their monthly food packages and also offers home delivery. Nutrition education activities include classes and cooking demos for children, youth, and adults.

Chickasaw, Choctaw, and Cherokee Nations

This photo album shows a variety of food distribution models and nutrition education activities offered by three Indian Tribal Organizations in Oklahoma. Chickasaw Nation in Purcell, OK, conducts a healthy eating class at a local Head Start program and features a grocery store model where clients can select the items in their monthly food packages. Choctaw Nation in McAlester, OK, conducts a food demo for blue cornmeal tamales and also features a grocery store model. Cherokee Nation in Porum, OK, conducts a pumpkin smoothie demo and taste test during a mobile food distribution.
