Child Nutrition Authorized Labels and Manufacturers

Child Nutrition (C)N numbers that appear on the valid list apply to the CN logo and crediting statement only. It is the manufacturer's responsibility to ensure that the product label meets all over federal labeling requirements.

  • CN Label Manufacturers Report - February 2025

These lists are updated and re-posted monthly; the data will not reflect newly authorized manufacturers and labels. Additionally, the product name on the food carton with the CN label may not necessarily match the product description from the list.

USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) has published a list of manufacturers that have met FNS's quality control program requirements for the CN labeling program.

The following inspection directories, along with the Establishment (EST) notations from technical assistance memorandum TA 05-2010, may be used to cross reference the EST number with the manufacturer’s physical address:

  • U.S. Department of Commerce Approved Establishments
This document has been developed by the Seafood Inspection Program. It is to be used as a reference for determining which fishery products have been produced in fish establishments approved by U.S. Department of Commerce.

The Approved Establishments document provides guidance on fishery products approved by the U.S. Department of Commerce and can assist states and school food authorities in identifying local vendors on their own, which would also enable them to more easily purchase seafood.
  • USDA/Food Safety and Inspection Service Establishment Numbers

Note: As of July 1, 2024, “beans, peas, and lentils” is the term used to describe the vegetable subgroup formerly known as “legumes.” Manufacturers may continue to use the term “legumes vegetables” on approved CN labels. At the time of application renewal or resubmission, manufacturers must update the term to “beans, peas, and lentils.”
