FDPIR Self-Determination Demonstration Project

The 2018 Farm Bill authorized USDA to establish a demonstration project for one or more tribal organizations administering FDPIR to enter into self-determination contracts to purchase USDA Foods for the FDPIR food package for their tribe.

Food Safety Resources

The FNS Food Safety division develops education, instruction and technical assistance resources for individuals working in federally funded nutrition assistance programs such as the NSLP, SBP, CACFP, and SFSP. Many of these resources are created in partnership with the Institute of Child Nutrition.

SNAP Rule Waivers

SNAP regulations provide that waivers may be approved under certain conditions, including when approval of a waiver would result in a more effective and efficient administration of the program. The SNAP Certification Policy Waiver database was provides information on approved SNAP waivers for each state.

State Guidance on Pandemic EBT

USDA is committed to providing nutrition assistance to hard-hit families across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic. In support of President Biden’s call to action on hunger, USDA announced that it is increasing the Pandemic EBT benefit by approximately 15 percent, providing more money for low-income families and millions of children missing meals due to school and child care closures.

WBSCM Delivery Order Status Reports

The delivery order status reports from WBSCM provide detail on orders throughout the delivery cycle. The reports are posted monthly and delivery order status data is current as of the report date.

Guam: COVID-19 Waivers & Flexibilities

USDA intends to use all available program flexibilities and contingencies to serve our program participants across our 15 nutrition programs. We have already begun to issue waivers to ease program operations and protect the health of participants.
