This final rule considers public comments submitted in response to the proposed rule revising the WIC food packages published on Nov. 21, 2022.

This notice invites the general public and other public agencies to comment on this proposed revision to the currently approved information collection for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) form FNS–889, “SNAP Education (SNAP-Ed) Connection Resource Sharing Form.” 

FNS Handbook 501, Exhibit O shows the FDPIR monthly distribution guide rates by household size effective Sept. 1, 2023. This document is commonly referred to as the "FDPIR Guide Rate."  

This document provides information on the requirements for submission of additional CSFP caseload requests for states and ITOs wishing to increase their assigned caseload in 2024.

This memorandum provides final caseload allocations to CSFP state agencies, including tribal organizations. Caseload is assigned using the formula found in current program regulations at 7 CFR 247.21.

This request for approval of information collection is necessary to obtain input into the development of nutrition education interventions for population groups served by FNS. Collection of this information will increase FNS' ability to formulate nutrition education interventions that resonate with the intended target population, particularly low-income families.

This rulemaking proposes to revise regulations governing the WIC food packages to align them with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and reflect recommendations made by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine in its 2017 report, “Review of WIC Food Packages: Improving Balance and Choice. while promoting nutrition security and equity and taking into account program administration considerations.

This letter extends the expiration date for certain flexibilities for WIC state agencies following the Abbott Recall and infant formula shortage.

This information collection will conduct research in support of FNS' goal of delivering science-based nutrition education to targeted audiences. This information collection will also conduct research that will assist FNS in identifying effective design and implementation approaches to use to develop and assess grants.
