This memorandum continues to clarify eligibility requirements for afterschool programs for the afterschool snack components of the NSLP and CACFP.

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 modifies requirements for permanent agreements in the Summer Food Service Program and the Child and Adult Care Food Program. The purpose of this memorandum is to implement these modifications to the SFSP and CACFP.

The purpose of this memorandum is to implement a provision affecting mandatory direct certification for children in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program households.

This rule proposes to revise the meal patterns and nutrition requirements for the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program to align them with the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, as required by the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act. 

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide guidance on the implementation of this modification in CACFP.

Policy Memorandum FD-082, Responsibilities for Claims for Food Losses (dated Dec. 10, 2008) is cancelled. The guidance provided by this policy memorandum has been incorporated in FNS Instruction 410-1, Claims for Losses of Donated Foods and Related Administrative Losses-Procedures for the State Distributing Agency, as revised on Dec. 29, 2010.
