Form FNS-101: Participation in Food Programs - by Race
In this memorandum, we present several options for consideration by the distributing agency to help ensure that service institutions receive donated foods for use in the summer meals provided in SFSP in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide guidance regarding the rounding procedures to be used when determining the total resources and net monthly income of FDPIR applicant households.
This memorandum supplements the guidance issued on May 16, 2008, concerning automatic eligibility for free meals for any child who is enrolled in Head Start.
Policy Memoranda FD-021, FDPIR Match Requirement (dated June 5, 2003), and FD-068, Indirect Cost Rates in the FDPIR Budget Process (dated Nov. 8, 2007), are cancelled. The guidance provided by these policy memoranda has been incorporated in the newly revised FNS Instruction 716-4, Administrative Budget Negotiation Guidance for the Food Distribution Program in Indian Reservations and the Food Distribution Program for Indian Households in Oklahoma.
The purpose of this memorandum is to extend the prevailing simplified acquisition threshold, commonly referred to as the small purchase threshold, to the Child and Adult Care and Summer Food Service Programs.
The Child and Adult Care Food Program subsidizes nutritious meals and snacks served to participants in child care nationwide, providing different levels or “tiers” of meal reimbursement based on the income level of participating children, providers, and nearby geographic areas. Policymakers have long been concerned that programs such as CACFP are not as accessible to eligible children in rural areas as in urban areas.
This notice announces the national average value of donated foods or, where applicable, cash in lieu of donated foods, to be provided in school year 2009 (July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009) for each lunch served by schools participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), and for each lunch and supper served by institutions participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
This notice announces the annual adjustments to the national average payment rates for meals and snacks served in child care centers, outside-school-hours care centers, at-risk afterschool care centers, and adult day care centers; the food service payment rates for meals and snacks served in day care homes; and the administrative reimbursement rates for sponsoring organizations of day care homes, to reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index.
Form FNS-667 is used by state agencies to report use of TEFAP administrative funds.
