The information collected from the individuals and households permits them to apply for benefits (including assistance during disasters or situations of distress) or to recertify their eligibility. The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) will discontinue the requirement for vendors to use high security seals to secure USDA Foods deliveries as of July 1, 2023. 

This is a revision to a currently approved collection, to prevent a lapse in OMB approval of data collection. This collection allows for Food Distribution Programs, such as the National School Lunch Program, the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, and The Emergency Food Assistance Program, to run effectively.

This memorandum transmits the 2023 income guidelines for state agencies and Indian Tribal Organizations in determining the eligibility of individuals applying to participate in CSFP.

This memorandum provides final caseload allocations to CSFP state agencies, including tribal organizations. Caseload is assigned using the formula found in current program regulations at 7 CFR 247.21.
