This rulemaking establishes the requirements regarding the allocation of administrative funds for the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations and the Food Distribution Program for Indian Households in Oklahoma, both of which are referred to as "FDPIR"' in this rulemaking.
This memo is written in response to a number of concerns brought to our attention by state agencies regarding school food authorities in contracts with food service management companies that allow the FSMC to charge a fixed fee to the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.
In proposed rule document 2012-4181 appearing on pages 10981-10997 in the issue of Feb. 24, 2012, make the following correction:
This proposed rule would establish the basic requirements for the operation of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) in conformance with the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act. It would set forth administrative and operational requirements for FFVP operators at the state and local levels.
This rule proposes to simplify and improve the administration of and expand access to FDPIR, and promote conformity with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
