The purpose of this policy memorandum is to provide clarification regarding the income eligibility determination and documentation requirements necessary for participation in WIC.
The Department announces adjusted income eligibility guidelines to be used by state agencies in determining the income eligibility of persons applying to participate in the WIC program. These income eligibility guidelines are to be used in conjunction with the WIC regulations.
This proposed rule would revise regulations governing the WIC program, incorporating the provisions set forth in the Healthy, Hunger- Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFKA) related to Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) for the WIC Program.
The purpose of this policy memorandum is to clarify that the presence of state appropriated funding in the operation of the WIC program does affect the manner in which federal claims against WIC state agencies may be satisfied.
