The Healthy Meals Incentives Initiative seeks to improve the nutritional quality of school meals through food systems transformation, SFA recognition and technical assistance, the generation and sharing of innovative ideas and tested practices.
FNS has a long history of helping to end hunger, reduce diet-related diseases, and accelerate health equity. This report explains who we are, who we serve and highlights key work underway.
This report summarizes how the USDA is leveraging its existing authorities, resources and touchpoints to support nutrition security with a primary focus on activities from the FNCS mission area. We look forward to working with stakeholders to achieve this vision through improving diet quality, strengthening the public health impacts of the federal nutrition assistance programs and advancing racial equity.
