This rule proposes changes to the Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations. These changes result from the findings of state and federal program reviews and from audits and investigations conducted by the Office of Inspector General.

This proposed rule would amend the regulations for the Special Milk Program for Children, Summer Food Service Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Determination of Eligibility for Free and Reduced Price Meals and Free Milk in Schools relating to the confidentiality of information about individuals who receive free and reduced price meals and free milk.

The Department announces adjusted income eligibility guidelines to be used by state agencies in determining the income eligibility of persons applying to participate in the WIC program. These income eligibility guidelines are to be used in conjunction with the WIC regulations.

This notice corrects Title 7 of the Code of Federal Regulations, parts 210 to 299, revised as of Jan. 1, 2000, page 285, § 245.6a.

This proposed rule would amend the regulations governing the procedures for determining eligibility for free and reduced price meals in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.

This notice announces pilot projects which would permit selected school food authorities and state agencies to test alternatives to the application procedures and verification process for households participating in the National School Lunch Program.
