Alternative Dispute Resolution

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) involves a variety of techniques and approaches to achieve consensual resolution of disputes, in a manner which avoids the cost, delay, and unpredictability of more traditional adversarial and adjudicative processes. These techniques may include mediation, facilitation, neutral evaluation, conciliation, fact finding, use of an ombudsman, settlement conferences, mini-trials, and peer review.

FNS ADR Policy

  • Make ADR available as an alternative means of resolving employment, during pre-complaint and or formal complaint processes, amicably and fairly.
  • Encourages FNS employees to utilize the ADR program for the timely and effective resolution of complaints, disputes and other work-related program disputes, as soon as issues arise.
  • Ensure fairness, neutrality, and confidentiality in administration of the ADR program.
