FARMWISE: Farm to CACFP Institute and Learning Collaborative

In cooperation with FNS, Association of State Public Health Nutritionists (ASPHN) will create the first Farm to Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Institute and Learning Collaborative, called FARMWISE. FARMWISE will teach 14 state farm to early childhood education (ECE) coalitions to help CACFP operators participate in farm to ECE activities.

Project Goal

Make it possible for CACFP operators to participate in farm to ECE. This includes creating state policies, systems, environments, resources, and partnerships that make equitable farm to CACFP possible.

Activities

All state coalitions will attend an in-person Farm to CACFP Institute in fall 2024, then a virtual Institute in fall 2025. There will be regular networking amongst coalitions. Three coalitions will receive funding, and all coalitions will receive technical assistance.
