Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 30 calendar days after the state has started their plan (May 30, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Report theft by phone or in-person at local offices. Submit claims by mail, fax, online, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued using the same procedures currently used for issuing replacement benefits due to loss or misfortune. You must either re-PIN or replace your card. We encourage you to replace your card.

Report theft within 30 business days of discovering and submit claim form within 10 more business days. Report theft by phone, mail, or in-person at local offices. Submit claims by mail or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days, and 10 additional days if more information is needed, to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 business days after date of claim submission (and an additional 10 business days if more information is needed). You must replace your card.
