Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 90 calendar days after the state has started their plan (June 19, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 45 calendar days of date of theft. Submit claims by mail, fax, phone, or in-person at local offices. The state has 20 business days to validate a retroactive claim, and 10 business days for a regular claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued by 5:00 AM on the day after the claim is approved and authorized. You must replace your card.

Submit claims by mail, fax, voice mailbox, online, or at the local office. The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits are issued within 5 business days after receipt of signed claim and within 1 business day after approval date. You must re-PIN your card.

Report theft within 30 calendar days of discovering and submit a claim form within 10 business days after the report. Report theft by mail, email, phone, or in-person at local offices. Submit claims in-person at local offices (reasonable accommodations made to capture a valid signature). The state has 10 business days after submission to validate the claim. 10 more business days will be given for exception. Extensions will not exceed 30 calendar days after claim submission.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 2 days after claim approval. You must replace your card.
