Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.

Households have 60 calendar days after the state has started their plan (Sept. 25, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 days of discovering theft. Submit claims by phone, email, online, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate retroactive claims, and 45 business days for regular claims.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 45 business days after you submit your claim. You must replace your card.

Report theft within 30 calendar days of discovering and submit regular claim form within 10 calendar days after report. Report theft by phone, mail, or in-person at local offices. Submit claims by mail or in-person at local offices. The state has 60 calendar days after date of initial report to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 60 calendar days after initial report. You must replace your card.
