Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 45 calendar days after a notice is mailed to you by the state to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit claims by mail, fax, voice mailbox, online, or at the local office. The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits are issued within 5 business days after receipt of signed claim and within 1 business day after approval date. You must re-PIN your card.
If you need proof of enrollment or an eligibility letter for the National School Lunch Program, please contact your child’s school district directly.

Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 calendar days after claim submission. You must replace your card.
