Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 90 calendar days after the state has started their plan (June 19, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 45 calendar days of date of theft. Submit claims by mail, fax, phone, or in-person at local offices. The state has 20 business days to validate a retroactive claim, and 10 business days for a regular claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued by 5:00 AM on the day after the claim is approved and authorized. You must replace your card.

The state has 10 business days after report of loss, or 2 business days after claim submission (whichever is later) to validate the claim.

Report theft within 60 calendar days of theft date and submit a claim form within 10 more business days (with an additional 10 business days possible upon request). Report theft by phone through the local office call center. Submit claims by mail, electronically, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are available on the day following claim approval. You must re-PIN your card.
