Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 30 calendar days after the state has started their plan (Sept. 1, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Report theft within 30 calendar days of discovering and submit regular claim form within 10 more calendar days. Report theft or submit claims by phone, online, email, mail, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days after reported loss, or two business days after claim submission (whichever is later) to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 2 business days after claim approval. You must replace your card.

Households have 60 calendar days after the state has started their plan (July 1, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Report theft and submit claims by phone, mail, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim unless additional information is needed.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 2 business days after claim approval. You must either re-PIN or replace your card.
