Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.

Households have 60 calendar days after the state has started their plan (Sept. 25, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 days of discovering theft. Submit claims by phone, email, online, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate retroactive claims, and 45 business days for regular claims.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 45 business days after you submit your claim. You must replace your card.

If the claim form is accessed on the 30th calendar day, you will have 10 more calendar days to return the form to the state. Submit regular claims within 90 days of discovering the theft. If the claim form is accessed on the 90th calendar day you will have an additional 10 calendar days to return the form to the state. Submit claims by mail, fax or email. The state has 10 business days to validate the claim.
