Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 180 calendar days after the state has started their plan (Dec. 1, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Report theft within 60 calendar days of discovering and submit a regular claim form within an additional 10 days (if submitting electronically) or 14 days if submitting by mail. Report theft by phone or in-person at local offices. Submit claims by mail, fax, phone, email, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 business days after the date of claim submission. You must replace your card.

Households have 45 calendar days after a notice is mailed to you by the state to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit claims by mail, fax, voice mailbox, online, or at the local office. The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits are issued within 5 business days after receipt of signed claim and within 1 business day after approval date. You must re-PIN your card.
