How Can WIC Help You?
Caring for kids takes a team. WIC is here to support women who are currently pregnant, recently pregnant, or breastfeeding and babies and kids under 5 years old. WIC provides healthy foods, personalized nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to other services to support you and your family — all at no cost to you.
Healthy Foods
WIC can make mealtime a little easier by providing healthy foods for your family. There are a lot of WIC foods to choose from, including fresh fruits and vegetables, baby food, milk, eggs, beans, cheese and more. Plus, you can now use the eWIC card. It works like a debit card at WIC-approved grocery stores and farmers’ markets.
Nutrition Education
Eating healthy can be a challenge — WIC makes it easier. With one-on-one counseling from nutrition professionals and other skilled staff, you get tailored support to meet the unique needs of your one-of-a-kind family, including:
- Personalized shopping advice
- Kid-friendly meal planning
- Tips for picky eaters
- Help with food allergies and special dietary needs
Breastfeeding Support
Breastfeeding can come with a lot of questions and challenges. WIC can connect you to breastfeeding support staff who can offer tips and resources to help you along your journey.
Health and Community Resources
WIC can connect you with community-based services, from medical and mental health care services to finding a food bank. WIC can help you meet many of your family’s needs.
