Proposed Rule: FSP Regulatory Review - EBT Provisions of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996

On Aug. 22, 1996, the President signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996. This rule proposes to implement the Electronic Benefit Transfer provisions found in Section 825 of this law which affect the Food Stamp Program. These provisions are meant to encourage implementation of Electronic Benefit Transfer systems to replace food stamp coupons.
