Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 30 calendar days after the state has started their plan (March 14, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Report theft within 30 calendar days of discovering theft and submit a claim form within 10 calendar days of report. Submit claims by mail, online, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 2 business days after claim approval. You must replace your card.
