Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 30 calendar days after the state has started their plan (May 24, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Report theft within 30 calendar days of discovering and submit regular claim form within 30 calendar days after report. Report theft by phone, mail, email, or in-person at local offices. Submit claims by mail, email, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days after claim submission to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 calendar days after claim approval or 2 business days after date of claim submission (whichever is later). You must replace your card.
