Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 90 calendar days after the state plan is approved (Aug. 10, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit reports and claims by mail, email, fax, phone, online, or in-person at local offices. The state has 1-10 calendar days and an additional 1-5 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued in the same manner as other SNAP replacements. You must replace your card.
