Replacement of Stolen Benefits

Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.

Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.

Households have 30 calendar days after the state has started their plan (Aug. 24, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. If the claim form is accessed on the 30^th calendar day, you have 10 more calendar days to return the form to the state. Submit regular claims within 10 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit claims by phone, in-person, mail, email, fax; or household may choose to have an interview (in-person or by phone) with a Self-Reliance Specialist. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim.

Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 calendar days after date of claim submission. You must replace your card.
