Resource | Training and Outreach Questions and Answers about the WIC AFBA Final Rule with Request for Comments

In July of 2022, the Access to Baby Formula Act of 2022 was signed into law. This rule implements the provisions of ABFA and several other related changes to strengthen WIC’s ability to address certain disasters, emergencies, and supply chain disruptions, particularly those impacting infant formula.

Grant Participation in WIC & Prevalence of Health Risks Associated with Maternal Mortality

The goal of this RFA is to facilitate rigorous academic research into WIC’s relationship to this important public health concern. The findings from this analysis will inform actions to improve maternal health in groups at highest risk for maternal morbidity and mortality.

Through the American Rescue Plan Act, USDA received waiver authority to support WIC and FMNP outreach, innovation, and modernization. Waivers are currently available to support WIC online shopping and ARPA-funded projects.

Resource | Guidance Documents Letter to WIC State Agencies on FY 2024 Funding

FNS recently provided WIC state agencies with a pro-rata allocation of funding for the initial weeks of the federal fiscal year. Consistent with past practice, FNS will also provide state agencies with a second allocation, bringing the total first quarter funds provided under the Continuing Resolution to one-third of the anticipated funding need for the year.
