This notice announces the value of donated foods or, where applicable, cash in lieu thereof, to be provided in the 2002 school year for each lunch served by schools participating in the National School Lunch Program or by commodity only schools and for each lunch and supper served by institutions participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Resource Food Distribution Program: Value of Donated Foods (July 1, 1999 - June 30, 2000)

Notice is hereby given that the national average minimum value of donated foods, or cash in lieu thereof, per lunch under NSLP (7 CFR Part 210) and per lunch and supper under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (7 CFR Part 226) shall be 14.75 cents for the period July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000.

Resource | Guidance Documents Prohibition Against Denying Meals and Milk to Children as a Disciplinary Action

This Instruction prohibits the denial of meals and milk as a disciplinary action against any child who is enrolled in a school participating in the child nutrition programs. Such denial of meals or milk is inconsistent with Section 2 and 9 of the National School Lunch Act and Sections 2,3, and 4 of the Child Nutrition Act of 1966.
