The National Association of Farmers' Market Nutrition Program directors held their first annual meeting in Baltimore, MD, on Oct. 7-9, 1993. The WIC program does not have a specific legislative mandate to screen for lead poisoning. Even so, since 1979 FNS has supported CDC's lead poisoning initiative.
