On Aug. 23, 2023 FNS published a final rule on program integrity to ensure that child nutrition programs are properly operated and managed to protect federal funds and taxpayer dollars.
State agencies are responsible for the administration of the School Breakfast Program (SBP). State agencies are the link between FNS and local program operators, ensuring the programs are managed according to the federal requirements. State agencies facilitate communication between the program operators and FNS, guaranteeing the success of the SBP.
