By HHS Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, USDA Food and Nutrition Service

The U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services and Agriculture invite the public to provide oral comments to the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee virtually during its third meeting on Sept. 12-13, 2023. Registration is required and will open tomorrow, Aug. 10, 2023, at 10 a.m. EST on DietaryGuidelines.gov.

DGA Third Meeting
Registration details are as follows:
  • Anyone can register to provide oral comments. Oral comments are limited to one representative per organization.
  • Registration is required, and there are a limited number of slots available. Therefore, comments will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
  • When registering to make oral comments, applicants must submit a summary of their intended oral comments in 400 words or less.
  • Oral comments must be no longer than two minutes.
  • There are two options to provide oral comments: submit a pre-recorded video that will be played during the meeting or virtually deliver comments live to the committee on September 12th.
  • All oral comments must focus on the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee’s work and be directed towards the entire committee.

In addition to oral comments, written comments can be submitted to the committee at any time. The written public comment period opened in January 2023 and will remain open throughout the committee’s work, expected to last through 2024. All public comments will be taken into consideration by the committee.

As with all full committee meetings, the upcoming September meeting will be open to the public via livestream and recorded for later viewing. Registration for the livestream also opens tomorrow, Aug. 10, 2023 at 10 a.m. EST on DietaryGuidelines.gov. Registration for the livestream is not limited, and HHS and USDA encourage the public to participate in this important event.
