Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 90 calendar days after the state has started their plan (Sept. 13, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 90 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit claims by mail, fax, email, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 business days after claim approval. You must replace your card.

Submit claims by phone, email, online, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate retroactive claims, and 45 business days for regular claims.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 45 business days after you submit your claim. You must replace your card.

Report theft within 60 calendar days of theft date and submit a claim form within 10 more business days (with an additional 10 business days possible upon request). Report theft by phone through the local office call center. Submit claims by mail, electronically, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are available on the day following claim approval. You must re-PIN your card.
