Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 30 calendar days after the state has started their plan (June 2, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Report theft within 30 days of discovering and submit claim form within an additional 10 calendar days. Submit reports and claims by mail, phone, or in-person at local offices. The state has 30 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 30 business days after the date of claim submission. You must re-PIN your card, but we strongly advise you to replace the card.

If the claim form is accessed on the 30th calendar day, you have 10 more calendar days to return the form to the state. Submit regular claims within 10 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit claims by phone, in-person, mail, email, fax; or household may choose to have an interview (in-person or by phone) with a Self-Reliance Specialist. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 calendar days after date of claim submission. You must replace your card.

Report theft within 60 calendar days of theft date and submit a claim form within 10 more business days (with an additional 10 business days possible upon request). Report theft by phone through the local office call center. Submit claims by mail, electronically, or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are available on the day following claim approval. You must re-PIN your card.
