Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households who previously reported theft are contacted by the state and have 30 calendar days after contact to submit a retroactive claim. The state posts a public notice and households will have 30 calendar days after the public notice to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit claims by mail, fax, phone, or in-person at local offices. Certain counties will accept claims by email or online. The state has 30 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued 30 business days after submission. You must replace your card.

Report theft by phone, mail, or in-person at local offices. Submit claims by phone or in-person at local offices. The state has 10 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 10 calendar days after claim submission. You must replace your card.
