Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 60 calendar days after the state has started their plan (Sept. 30, 2024) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit claims by mail, email, phone, in-person at local offices, or other valid transmission method. The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are available for use by midnight on the day of claim approval. You must replace your card.
If you need proof of enrollment or an eligibility letter for the National School Lunch Program, please contact your child’s school district directly.
All public schools are approved and monitored through the Arkansas Department of Education. Arkansas Department of Human Services approves and monitors private school, residential child care institutions, state juvenile treatment centers, and juvenile detention centers.

Households have 90 calendar days after the state plan is approved (Aug. 10, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit reports and claims by mail, email, fax, phone, online, or in-person at local offices. The state has 1-10 calendar days and an additional 1-5 business days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued in the same manner as other SNAP replacements. You must replace your card.

The state will contact households who previously reported theft and you have 90 calendar days after notice to submit a retroactive claim. Other households will have 90 calendar days after the state has started their plan (June 16, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 90 calendar days of theft date. Submit claims by mail, fax, email, or in-person at local offices (physical signatures only). The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 30 calendar days after claim submission. You must replace your card.
