Replacement of Stolen Benefits
Statutory authority to replace stolen benefits expired on Dec. 20, 2024, thus SNAP benefits stolen on or after Dec. 21, 2024, are not eligible for replacement using federal funds.
Contact your state agency to report stolen SNAP benefits.
Households have 60 calendar days after the state releases a memo (Aug. 21, 2023) to submit a retroactive claim. Submit regular claims within 30 calendar days of discovering theft. Submit claims by mail, online (in certain districts), or in-person at local offices. The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 30 calendar days after claim submission. You must replace your card.

For regular claims, household must discover theft within 30 calendar days of date of theft. You have 30 calendar days after date of discovery to report and submit a claim form. Report theft and submit claim forms phone, mail, email, or in-person at local offices. The state has 30 calendar days to validate the claim.
Benefit Availability: Benefits for approved claims are issued within 24 hours of claim approval. You must replace your card.
