The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFKA) added Section 12 (p) to the National School Lunch Act (NSLA) requiring USDA to establish procedures to annually collect and publish the paid lunch prices charged by school food authorities (SFAs). FNS promulgated regulations at 7 CFR 210.14(e)(7), 7 CFR 210.15(a)(8), and 7 CFR 210.20(a)(8) that require SFAs to annually report prices charged for paid lunches to the state agencies and require state agencies to annually report the paid lunch prices to FNS.

The FNS-828: School Food Authority Paid Lunch Price Report is a report that is annually submitted by state agencies to FNS which contains the paid lunch price data for the school food authorities (SFAs).

The paid lunch price data has been consolidated from the reports submitted by each state agency and is contained in the spreadsheet files available on this web page.

Note: FNS issued a waiver for school year (SY) 2020-21 and SY 2021-22 due to the pandemic.
