Mozz Totz

These breaded and baked Mozz Totz are a favorite of kids and adults alike. Served with warm marinara sauce for dipping.

Makes: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces mozzarella string cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ cup marinara sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease.
  3. Remove string cheese from package and cut into bite size pieces.
  4. In a small skillet mix breadcrumbs, oregano, and basil. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until breadcrumbs are lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
  5. Dip each piece of cheese in milk and then into toasted breadcrumbs, coating completely.
  6. Place on baking sheet about 1 ½ inches apart.
  7. Bake 5-6 minutes or until heated through. Cheese may melt slightly and lose shape. Simply press it back into place.
  8. Serve with warmed marinara sauce.
