This report, the latest in a series of annual reports on WIC eligibility, presents 2022 national and state estimates of the number of people eligible for WIC benefits and the percents of the eligible population and the US population covered by the program, including estimates by participant category.

The Healthy Meals Incentives Initiative seeks to improve the nutritional quality of school meals through food systems transformation, school food authority recognition and technical assistance, the generation and sharing of innovative ideas and tested practices.

School Year 2024-25 Paid Lunch Equity Tool Walkthrough

This webinar gives a brief introduction to the paid lunch equity requirement followed by a walk-through of the school year 2024-25 paid lunch equity tool.

Supporting Indigenous Food Sovereignty through Farm to School

In cooperation with FNS, the Intertribal Agriculture Council, will explore how farm to school programs can better support Indigenous Food Sovereignty efforts with American Indian/Alaskan Native youth and producers.

Innovation in School Food Purchasing

In cooperation with FNS, the Urban School Food Alliance, will train school districts on how to buy fresh, healthy food. This cooperative agreement builds on USFA’s existing efforts to strengthen and streamline food procurement practices for school districts of all sizes.

FARMWISE: Farm to CACFP Institute and Learning Collaborative

In cooperation with FNS, Association of State Public Health Nutritionists will administer the first Farm to Child and Adult Care Food Program Institute and Learning Collaborative, called FARMWISE, to advance Farm to CACFP efforts.

Patrick Leahy Farm to School Program Cooperative Agreements

The Patrick Leahy Farm to School Program forms cooperative agreements with non-profit and tribal organizations to expand technical assistance, including farm to school and farm to CACFP institutes. These cooperative agreements will increase the capacity of government agencies, tribal organizations, agricultural producers, schools and other partners to increase local food procurement and agricultural education in child nutrition programs.

FDPIR - Findings from the Program Access Quick Response Survey

This report responds to a Congressional directive in the Further Consolidated Appropriations Bill of 2020, tasking the USDA FNS with studying challenges facing FDPIR in reaching underserved populations, specifically homebound and elderly individuals unable to travel to FDPIR distribution locations. The report summarizes findings from a survey of FDPIR program operators about how they serve these populations, challenges encountered, and recommendations for enhancing accessibility for the homebound and elderly.
