Resource | Policy Correcting Amendments - WIC: Implementation of the Access to Baby Formula Act of 2022 and Related Provisions

On Dec. 14, 2023, we published a final rule that went into effect on Feb. 12, 2024. In reviewing the resulting changes to the Code of Federal Regulations, we found that the final rule inadvertently omitted provisions from the CFR and contained several non-substantive errors. This document corrects those errors in the WIC regulations.

Resource | Policy WIC Policy Memo #2026-1: Temporary Increase to the Maximum Monthly Allowance of Fluid Milk

On Nov. 12, 2025, President Trump signed the Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture, Legislative Branch, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Extensions Act, 2026 into law. Section 787 of the Act directs USDA to update the maximum monthly allowance of fluid milk for certain food packages provided in the WIC program.

Resource | Policy CSFP: Announcement of Update to the Food Package Maximum Monthly Distribution Rates, Effective Sept. 1, 2025

In alignment with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins’ priorities to encourage healthy choices, healthy outcomes, and healthy families and connect America’s farmers to nutrition assistance programs, we are revising the CSFP Maximum Monthly Distribution Rates to reflect the foods currently available in the program.

This collection is: (1) a revision of the currently approved collections for the reporting and recordkeeping burdens associated with the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) regulations and with the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) regulations; and (2) a consolidation of the SFMNP and WIC FMNP reporting and recordkeeping burdens into a single information collection to more accurately reflect consolidated program operations.

Resource | Policy Interim Final Rule: NSLP and SBP - Elimination of the State Ameliorative Action Reporting Requirement for School Meals Eligibility Verification

Due to a technical problem with the docket that prevented comments from being accepted during part of the initial comment period, we are reopening the comment period for the interim final rule that appeared in the Federal Register on June 6, 2025. The rule rescinds an unnecessary reporting requirement for the school meals application verification process.

Resource | Policy SNAP Database Update -Letter to State Agencies

USDA has established the SNAP Information Database. In accordance with Secretary Rollins’ July 9, 2025, letter, and in order to ensure a complete and accurate database, state agencies must be compliant with the requirement of transmitting SNAP participant data to FNS no later than July 30, 2025.

On May 6, 2025, state agencies were advised of the United States Department of Agriculture’s intent to implement President Trump’s March 20, 2025, Executive Order 14243, Stopping Waste, Fraud, and Abuse by Eliminating Information Silos through State data sharing to the Food and Nutrition Service.
