The I advises sponsors to notify and obtain State agency approval of their plans to provide meal services on field trips in SFSP (see Chapter 3, Meal Service Requirements). We have been asked to clarify that formal approval of the alternative meal service is not a Federal requirement. Whenever sponsors play field trips that may affect the time or location of meal services the state should be informed.
