We are ensuring programs work harder to encourage healthy eating and lifestyle habits, including through the SNAP Food Restriction Waivers.
This memorandum reiterates these fundamental objectives and their interaction with the Secretary of Agriculture’s authority to grant state SNAP agencies requests to waive the time limit on receiving SNAP benefits by ABAWDs who do not meet statutory work requirements.
The activities that are covered by this Information Collection Request include the transition from individual collections for program waivers and state plans to a new application supporting multiple USDA programs.
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide state agencies and program operators of the child nutrition programs, including the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Care Food Program, and the Summer Food Service Program, with additional information and clarification on the state agency monitoring process regarding the: 1) Child nutrition label, 2) watermarked CN label, and 3) manufacturer’s Product Formulation Statement.
This letter serves as notice to all WIC state agencies that effective Sept. 18, 2024, the Secretary of Agriculture has declared that a Supply Chain Disruption exists in certain non-contract WIC state agencies where the ability of participants to obtain their prescribed Mead Johnson formulas is impacted due to limited stock.
