FNS recognizes that many state agencies may benefit from guidance regarding the existing flexibilities allowable within current FMNP and SFMNP regulations and has compiled some of these flexibilities for state and local agencies to consider.

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 provided USDA with $50 million to implement SFMNP initiatives to maintain and improve supply chain resiliency, which also improves the nutrition security of eligible participants.

This policy memorandum transmits the 2022-23 Income Eligibility Guidelines (IEGs) for SFMNP.
